Describe CommunityServicePedagogyWebsite? here.
If anyone is intereted there is a good website on how to implement service learning pedagogy in the classroom. The address is idealist.org and there is a section on the home page for "Kids and Teens" that will also link you to information for teachers. Not only is it a good website for community service projects and volunteer opportunities but they also have information for teachers on how to incorporate a service learning pedagogy into their curriculum. They have online educational resources and lesson plans covering a variety of subjects and grade levels in relation to service learning, articles and studies on how others have fared, recommended reading lists, and a service learning resource page with links to organizations that support service learning issues. Like our text said, volunteering without first critically thinking about the issues is just charity work and I think this website is a good educational tool for avoiding this setback. It can help the teacher critically engage the students' minds and effect not only their thinking but also their experiences through the incorporation of service learning into the classroom. Thanks and I hope it can be of use! =) Melak
